Upon the inspection of LEGOLAND Dubai's main entrance, two of the park's most iconic structures - the 'LEGOLAND DUBAI Welcome Sign' and the 'Iconic Dragon Tower' - were found to be heavily faded and unattractive, requiring major improvements.

Time was of the essence, as the project had to be completed within a tight timeline to minimize the impact on the 'never closed park' and enable it to quickly regain its grandeur. With the use of advanced GRP surface solutions, meticulous repairs and cutting-edge painting techniques, this project had to be perfect!

Our solution:

For this high-stakes project at LEGOLAND Dubai, we implemented a strategic approach by dividing the area into two separate projects. This assured a seamless and efficient execution to meet the desired timeline.

Our comprehensive solution began with thorough GRP repairs to ensure the structural integrity. Precision preparation followed, where every GRP surface was carefully treated to optimize its durability. After this, we applied a high-quality 2K basecoat directly onto the prepared GRP surfaces.

  • This application was followed by a 2K Gloss clearcoat over the basecoat, thereby enhancing the high-gloss finish and providing an additional layer of protection against environmental elements. To maximize the colour stability and longevity of the surfaces, we integrated an additional UV booster, effectively defending against colour fading even in severe conditions.

    The LEGO models, once integral parts of the GRP main entrance structure at LEGOLAND Dubai, were meticulously removed and subjected to our exclusive and innovative refurbishment process. This method was carefully employed to infuse the 'wow factor' back into these iconic models that had lost their vibrancy over time.
